Kelly Clark was featured in the “Angles” section of the December 9, 2013 issue of Scholastic Math.
The feature entitled “Angling For A Win” discussed how Kelly’s snowboarding tricks can be used to practice math problems by viewing things like the number of degrees she rotates during tricks and the angles her board makes in the air. Kelly stated, “I think sports in general are a great tool to develop as a young person. Pretty much everything I know about life I’ve learned through the avenue of sports—snowboarding specifically.”
The feature credited Kelly as a professional snowboarder as well as an Olympic gold and silver medalist. A prominent color image of Kelly was included on the cover of the issue, along with two others in the feature.
